Pink Lemonade

A bright, cheerful place to eat (and drink) your sweet treats.

This one was harder than I expected. My first dining area, and it landed so far from where I thought it would – especially the pink walls. But here we are.

I actually started with the chairs. They are excellent reasonably priced chairs to bring a pop of color and mix nicely with more traditional wood tones. I hadn’t even committed to a chair color at that point, but then I found the accent cabinet and had my color palette anchor. I also liked the stripiness (not a real word, I know) of that piece and leaned into it with the table, vase, and some of the art. I rounded out the space with a mix of art pieces that continued and expanded the color palette, along with more neutral vibes from the rug, light, mirror, and plant to bring some balance.

The paint colors came late and took a fair bit of playing around. I love a chair rail in a dining room, which allowed me to explore a two-toned space. After trying on lots of greens and some more neutral grays, I threw some pink on there… just to see. It blew everything else I had tried out of the water and brought me some lazy end-of-summer feels that inspired the “Pink Lemonade” name.
