An office design to help you level up.
This one went more smoothly than I expected. I started with the paint color this time since Pink Lemonade’s paint color had been such a headscratcher for me when I left the walls to the end. I’ve been eyeing dark green for my own house for a long time now. But it is darker than any room I’ve painted in real life, except for a giant red accent wall mistake in my first apartment. I haven’t convinced myself to take that kind of risk since, so I was excited to try it on in fake life first.
From there, I went with light wood tones to contrast the dark green, finding the matching desk and cabinet set, the comfy leather chair, and floating wood shelves. I wanted a bold rug with neutral colors and the black and white Moroccan rug really fit the bill. For more pops of color, I went with muted purples and a range of blues. Finally, I went with lighter green plants (a money plant and a pothos) to pop against the dark green wall.
I kept the overall color palette relatively more contained than I usually do, and the pieces came together so much faster. Maybe that is just obvious, but since it’s not my natural inclination, it still feels worth saying. And it brought me to my favorite room yet.
